In collaboration with Canadian boot makers, Viberg. Our interpretation of the original work boot, designed by Edwin Viberg in 1931, features a panelled Chromexcel leather construction, rugged outsole and medial zip. Developed by long-standing tanners, Horween Leathers, Chromexcel leather undergoes 89 separate processes, including bating and pickling with chrome salts, and takes 28 working days to turn it into the distinctive, smooth leather. This leather is waxed with a blend of tallow and beeswax to achieve an evenness and weatherproofing unmatched by other tanneries. The boot is built on Viberg’s versatile 2030 last, with a low-profile and almond shaped toe. Set atop a Vibram 1276 Sierra sole, this boot is made with Goodyear welt construction and a cushioned EVA midsole. The 1276 Sierra sole offers angled tread and is made with proprietary 'FIRE & ICE' compound that is flame resistant and maintains its traction even in extremely cold temperatures. In addition to rounded waxed cotton laces at the lacing cage, easy entry is provided with a custom YKK Excella zip at the medial wall. A black English Kip leather lining round out the details. Included is flat and rounded waxed cotton laces and Venetian® leather balm for cleaning and protecting the boots. Made in Canada.
