PETROSOLAUM

Founded in 2012 by brothers Ryo and Sotaro Ogino in Asakusa, Tokyo, PETROSOLAUM creates handmade Japanese footwear that brings together function, art, and traditional shoemaking. Each pair begins with the material, using leathers such as calf, cordovan, horsehide, and ostrich to reveal their distinct textures and natural characteristics.

Working with skilled craftspeople, the brothers combine considered design with techniques passed down through generations. A respect for the materials informs every stage of construction, resulting in leather shoes designed for lasting wear, developing a rich patina and individual character over time.
